As well as Street Pastor volunteers who need effective listening skills to communicate with their fellow citizens in night-time venues, this training module is for those who want to increase community setting or workplace efficiency with skilled communication.

Learning Outcomes

• 1. Identify and explore three key elements of communication
• 2. Identify the differences between listening and hearing
• 3. Examine and practice how to handle barriers to effective listening
• 4. Be aware of behaviors that will disrupt and hinder meaningful communication
• 5. Practice the techniques of active listening: attending and reflecting
• 6. Explore the benefits of active listening both for the speaker and listener

Curriculum

1. Listening Skills (Cycle 14) taught as one Live Zoom sessions

   Saturday 9 am - 12 pm
