Ascension Trust Training

"Communicate to the community and to individuals, ‘The Church is here where you are.’ 

This training module is for representatives of the Church, including Street Pastor volunteers who want to share the Good News in a community setting. It aims to help representatives of the Church to be people who are willing to BE the good news for their communities, to ‘draw alongside others, helping and guiding them in their needs’. When the Church shares the good news it is explaining the gospel through simple acts of kindness, through its non-judgmental and respectful stance, and through caring, listening and helping.

Learning Outcomes

• 1. Catch a vision for what can change can be transformed in their community
• 1. Examine some tools for communication and conversation to help them engage with the people they will meet
• 2. Think and reflect on the changes in mindsets over the last 15-20 years
• 3. Examine four major values or themes of the 21st century
• 4. Examine and explore at least six ways in which they can be the good news for their communities

Curriculum

1. Good News - This lesson will stream via Zoom.

   Saturday 9 am - 12 pm
