Ascension Trust Training

Description

This training course presents the ethos of the School and College Pastors Initiatives, and contains resources to prepare teams for appropriate and relevant relationships with our young people and wider School/College community. It aims to bring together the challenges of a Christian responsibility for our neighbourhoods with the specialised knowledge vital to participation in twenty-first century culture.

Throughout the training, an open attitude is strongly encouraged. Emphasis is placed on each individual analysing his or her preconceived ideas, perceptions and prejudices. Recognising these and letting go of them will facilitate the learning process and develop the ability to engage with new situations and contexts.

The School and College Pastors Initiatives are designed to give Christians the tools to be effective expressions of God’s presence, and through the dedication of time and love, become bridgebuilders in today’s society.

The course consists of 6 subjects and two practical elements, referred to as supervised patrols. The following sessions, considered as the core are mandatory.
