Do you have a role of caring for people in the community? This training module will equip you with the skills and attitude to respond non-judgementally to someone concerned with drugs and alcohol misuse or who has the potential to misuse either of these substances. It seeks to empower you with the confidence to engage in conversations about drugs and alcohol misuse in a caring and sensitive manner so that the person concerned will seek the help that is required.
Learning Outcomes
- 1. Gain valuable insights into the varied reasons why people misuse drugs
- 1. Reflect on how to respond non-judgementally to someone involved in drug abuse
- 2. Develop confidence to have conversations about drug use and misuse
- 3. Understand how illegal drugs are classified and the penalties for possession and dealing
- 4. Identify ways in which street pastors may be able to help anyone concerned with drug misuse
- 5. Increase their awareness of the categories of drugs and the effects they have on the body
